DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS

The Department is saddled with the responsibilities of sourcing, planning and allocation of funds for the Commission.  It records, classifies and analyze the financial transactions of the Commission to produce the published financial statements showing the performance of fund utilization. The department liaises with the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Budget Office of Federation and Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation to implement the Annual appropriation and report performance through the Financial Statements.

The Department is divided into the following divisions:

  1. Expenditure
  2. Budget
  3. Fiscal and Financial Reporting
  4. Revenue

The functions of the department include the following:

  1. The Department gives general advice to the Commission on all Financial and Accounting matters.
  2. Ensuring prompt rendition of all returns e.g Revenue and Expenditure returns to appropriate Government organizations.
  • Liaise with relevant departments of the Commission in generating and collecting revenue on water use application and charges
